Northeast Bat Working Group 2022

Hybrid Meeting Venue

January 12-14

Manchester, New Hampshire

The Northeast Bat Working Group (NEBWG) is comprised of agencies, organizations, industry, and individuals interested in bat research, management, and conservation located in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Virginia area regions. A winter meeting is held each year at various locations where participants present results from previous studies, provide updates on long term projects, and plan future multi-state collaborative endeavors. State representatives provide summaries of their state's bat related activities, while federal representatives provide updates on national scale policy and protection efforts.

The 2022 NEBWG Conference will be a hybrid conference that allows both in-person and virtual attendance. The conference will start at noon on Wednesday January 12th and conclude around noon on Friday January 14th. Details on the agenda will be forthcoming.

For those attending virtually, the conference will be available live through the Whova event management platform. After you register, you will be provided with links to download the Whova app and gain access to the agenda. If you plan on presenting virtually (either poster or oral presentation), you will also get information about how to prepare and present your research through the Whova platform.

For those attending in person, the Northeast Bat Working Group Meeting will be held at the Hilton Doubletree Downtown located in Manchester, New Hampshire. The hotel is the only full-service downtown hotel that is located within walking distance to great restaurants, an off-Broadway theatre, and a vibrant night life. The hotel is also located less than five miles from the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT). For the NEBWG conference, the hotel is providing over 8,000 sq. ft. of exhibit and conference space, exceptional catering options, and a highly attentive staff.

Meeting room rates are currently $124 (single/double occupancy) and $134 (triple occupancy). To book your reservation at the hotel, go to the Hilton Doubletree Downtown reservation site,  You can also call 603-625-1000 and mention NEBWG for the group rate. Rooms may be cancelled up to 72 hours before date of reservation without penalty. There is no charge for parking or hotel wifi. THIS IS A NON-SMOKING HOTEL - GUESTS WILL BE CHARGED A $300 SERVICE FEE FOR ANY SMOKING-RELATED CLEANING.

The nearest airport is the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), which is less than five miles from the hotel.  At this point in time, the Hilton Doubletree Downtown WILL NOT have shuttles available to and from the airport.

COVID PROTOCOL

NEBWG has decided that attendance to the conference will require an attestation of vaccination or evidence of a negative COVID test result within 48 hours of registration on January 12th. In addition to these attendance requirements, the seating will be organized to maximize physical distancing for all participants, although we will not know the exact spacing until we have the final registration numbers. All hotel staff will be wearing masks for the duration of the conference. As COVID protocols change in the city of Manchester and the Hilton Downtown, these guidelines may be modified.

We respect the right of all persons to wear masks and expect unvaccinated persons with a negative COVID test to wear masks within the conference spaces. Persons with COVID-like symptoms should not attend and will be reimbursed for registration and lodging costs.

Please continue to check this website to obtain updated COVID protocols for this conference.
